This past weekend I attended a "Green" convention organized by the organization called Bioneers, which was held in cities across the country, including Spokane. Presentations by national speakers were presented in San Francisco and telecast to the participating cities.(1)

This wasa very exciting event that provided me with great hope for the future, and a feeling that we are on the verge of reaching a tipping point regarding sustainable development. People and some businesses are doing amazing things and inspiring others to do the same.

One of the speakers was Van Jones who will be in Seattle on November 7th, at the Langston Hughes Performance Hall located in the Central District, 104 17th Ave S, at 7:00 pm.  It is free. I encourage all to attend. (2)

I also encourage people to attend the Cascadia Convergence at Seattle Center on Saturday. You will be inspired.

I plan to go to Sustainable Cascadia's Cascadia Convergence tomorrow.  

The event starts tonight with a lecture by David Suzuki at Seattle Center -- and continues tomorrow and Sunday at Seattle Center.

Cascadia Convergence 2007 is an event that begins a 5 year initiative to catalyze collaboration aimed at achieving sustainability across our bioregion, Cascadia.

Dr. David Suzuki, world renown sustainability guru, kicks off this 2-day event to take stock of sustainability progress in the Pacific Northwest. A highly regarded author, mentor and TV personality, his scientific knowledge and ability to communicate with diverse audiences has earned him international acclaim.
